At PROPUP’s workshop on building a web app without programming, we worked together on our laptops. The focus was the journey from an idea to a web app: working with AI, understanding authentication and databases, and publishing an application online.

Step by step.

We begin together. Then, little by little, it becomes your own project. If something gets stuck, we look at it together.

At 9:00 am, we get to know one another, review the preparation and collect your ideas. Then we start building.

    Your first page on the web

    We start directly in the browser. Step by step, you create your first page with its own address on the web. This gives you an early feel for what building with AI is like.

  2. 10:45

    How an application fits together

    Together, we look behind the interface: what does a database do, what is a login for, and how does everything connect? We use examples you can try straight away.

  3. 13:00

    Your own tool takes shape

    Now it’s your idea’s turn. We take a manageable process from your business and build a first application with a login and database. I guide you along the way.

  4. 14:45

    Making the application your own

    What else does your team need? You add a useful feature and learn how to explain to the AI what your application should do.

  5. 16:00

    At your own address

    We publish your first application, try it out together and discuss the next steps. You leave with something you can continue building yourself.

You know where day-to-day work gets stuck.

Whether in accounting, scheduling, sales or administration: people who do a task every day can usually say quite precisely what a good tool for it would need to do.

That is exactly the knowledge you bring. Programming experience is not a prerequisite.

And afterwards?

You take a first working version with you. And you know how to continue developing it yourself.

We also discuss what needs to be settled before using it in the company: which data you may work with, who gets access and who will look after the application.

What we prepare before the workshop

So we can focus on building on the day, we coordinate these points with your IT team beforehand:

  • One laptop per participant on which software can be installed. Managed company devices will need approval from IT.
  • Access to github.com, vercel.com, supabase.com and anthropic.com. Some corporate networks block these addresses.
  • Claude Pro access for every participant, around €20 per month and cancellable monthly. This is the only item that costs extra.
  • An IT contact who can be reached on the day of the workshop.

If any devices are locked down, please let me know in good time. We can then work out an approach that does not require a local installation.
