I always wanted to build something of my own.
I started out as a banking apprentice. Alongside my apprenticeship, I worked towards the qualifications that took me to IMC Krems, and later into IT consulting at Senacor. There, I delivered projects in the banking sector while completing a part-time master’s degree in Digital Business Management.
My interest in technology started much earlier. My eldest brother Gerhard runs an IT company and got me interested as a child. Running a business seems to run in the family: my parents opened a traditional cider tavern in Neuhofen an der Ybbs, which my brother Leopold and his wife run today. I always wanted to start something of my own too.
Our own experience led to PROPUP.
When searching for, renting and buying property, Kristof and I kept coming across cumbersome processes. We took a closer look, had many conversations with estate agents and spent about a year refining our idea. In March 2021, we founded PROPUP together.
Today, I handle all of our product development. I talk to people in the industry, work out what they need and implement it myself. When someone describes a problem, possible technical solutions often start forming in my head. I particularly enjoy finding out which solution really fits and then building it myself.
I enjoy sharing what I know.
I have also been teaching at IMC Krems since we founded PROPUP. I once studied there myself; today, I bring experience from my daily work into the classroom. It matters to me that people without a technical background can follow along and feel comfortable asking questions. The same goes for my workshops and talks.
And outside work? I enjoy golf, travelling and spending time with my family in Neuhofen an der Ybbs. I spent six months backpacking through South America. I am just as happy spending time back home at the family’s cider tavern.
